One out of Two Adults Over 30 has Periodontitis

Periodontal Disease
“A new study from the CDC confirms that nearly one out of two adults age 30 and over has periodontitis, (which is the inflammation of the tissue around the teeth, often causing shrinkage of the gums and loosening of the teeth).”  This study indicates that prevalence is highest among ethnic minorities, with 64% of hispanic-americans, 59% of non-hispanic blacks and 50% of non-hispanic asian americans are affected by periodontitis. At Cannon Family Dental, we are also concerned that studies show 50% of Americans do not seen a dentist regularly.  It is likely that there is a large number of people that have periodontitis and do not realize it.  Because periodontitis is a challenging disease to treat, and because untreated it can lead to the loss of teeth, we invite you to call us today at 801-292-3501.  We are easily accessible to all in Davis County, Utah.
